AeA Members & Friends,Coming up
on Tuesday, August 12, the Sales & Marketing Roundtable is meeting again
to discuss current trends in sales techniques and marketing media. This
meeting is free to AeA members and targeted to senior sales and marketing
executives. To allow time for all to participate and to keep the
discussion focused, we limit attendance to 20 people. Just to make things
more fun, WunderMarx/PR CEO Cara Good will moderate. Printronix is kind
enough to host.
AeA professional roundtables are some of the most popular events we
produce. They may be popular because they're free to our members, but I
want to think its more than that. The information that is shared at these
events is invaluable. Its an opportunity to share thoughts on best
practices and receive a broader awareness of the circumstances of their
peers.
In addition to our Sales & Marketing Roundtable on August 12, the HR
Roundtable will be meeting again on September 9 with a special event on
the topic of "Dangerous Documents." The CFO Roundtable will meet next in
late October or early November. And new roundtables are now forming for
Operations, Product Management, and Sales Leadership.

AeA Member Microsoft to acquire AeA Member DATAllegro
Microsoft
announced it's
plans to acquire Aliso Viejo-based
DATAllegro, which develops
data warehouse appliances. Financial terms of the deal were not
disclosed. According to Microsoft, it will retain most of
DATAllegro's team in Aliso Viejo, where it will create a "Center of
Excellence" for data warehousing. DATAllegro was venture backed by
Adams Capital Management, Focus Ventures, Intel Capital, JAFCO
American Ventures, Palomar Ventures, The Hillman Company, and
Venrock Associates. The firm last raised a round of funding in May
worth $19.6M, which brought its total raised to $63.1M since its
founding in 2004.

AeA Member Microsemi Acquires AeA Member SEMICOA:
Accretive Acquisition Strengthens Company's Leadership in High
Reliability Markets
Microsemi Corporation (Nasdaq:MSCC), a leading manufacturer of
high performance analog mixed signal integrated circuits and high
reliability semiconductors, announced its acquisition of
substantially all of the assets of SEMICOA.
Founded in 1968, SEMICOA is a leader in the design, development, and
manufacturing of semiconductors and smart munitions optoelectronics
for the high reliability military, commercial aerospace and
satellite markets and is a leading competitor in the small signal
high reliability transistor markets as evidenced by its long list of
DSCC qualifications. Total consideration for SEMICOA was
approximately $25 million in cash. Microsemi expects the
acquisition will be accretive.
Microsemi Corporation reported unaudited results for its
third quarter of fiscal year 2008, with record net sales for
Third Quarter at $129.3 Million, up 13.8 percent from net sales of
$113.6 million in the third quarter of 2007, and up 2.1 percent from
net sales of $126.7 million in the second quarter of 2008.
